This position is responsible for the design, development and implementation of interactive television applications such as synchronized information, virtual channels, program guides, video-on-demand and personal video recorders, and games for existing and next generation digital set top box devices.
We are seeking a high-energy, positive, jack of all trades professional who can take charge and deliver desired results with little or no supervision. The ideal professional for our team will be a strong, customer-focused engineer with a passion for developing innovative solutions for design and technology challenges with the eagerness and ability to learn new technologies quickly. This candidate requires the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and has a “can do” attitude.
Major Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead and coordinate iTV application projects including application architecture, integration with external data handling systems and broadcast platforms.
• Identify and drive system integration projects.
• Develop and document application and system specifications and solutions to satisfy technical project requirements.
• Perform coding, testing and integration of interactive TV applications with the broadcast environment and operator platforms
• Provide work estimates, determining project scope and meet development schedules.
• Lead research, design, and development of efforts on emerging platforms and technology
• Design and develop itv applications, user interfaces, platform-specific / native code modules, and integration components as required.
• Identify and drive improvements in the application development process and Ensequence products through the development process.
Required/Desired Skills and Experience:
• 3-5 years designing, developing and maintaining time driven, customer facing projects.
• Proven experience architecting, designing or specifying integrated content systems.
• Knowledge of Digital TV technology.
• High-energy, positive, results-oriented professional with proven ability to take charge and deliver on any task with little or no supervision.
• Strong knowledge of graphic, audio and video formats including MPEG, QuickTime, WMP.
• Strong technical, process, interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to write functional specifications and detailed design documentation.
• Strong knowledge of object oriented design and template based application construction.
• Strong knowledge of script-based languages such as Visual Basic, JavaScript, or Flash
• Strong knowledge of C++, C#/Microsoft.NET programming.
• (Desired) Strong knowledge of Java, CSS, Perl, SQL, ASP, XML/XMLST.
• (Desired) Strong knowledge of game engine, animation, and 2D graphics development.
• (Desired) Strong knowledge of broadband video streaming technology, infrastructure, and integration.
